CURRENTLY ENROLLING RITE OF PASSAGE CIRCLES

Rite of Passage circles run late September through mid May and include one overnight camping trip in the Spring. All circles will be 6 participants or under with one auntie in order to adhere to physical distance needs due to Covid. All ROP circles include:

13 after school gatherings from 4-6:30pm*

4 weekend gatherings from 10am-2pm

2 parent only gatherings

1 spring camping trip

1 parent/auntie meeting

*if everyone enrolled would like to meet earlier in the day this can be negotiated with the lead auntie once enrolled. Our schedules were made in the past to accommodate school schedules, but given that many kids will not be able to attend physical schools in the fall, there may be more flexibility to meet during mornings or afternoons.

The following circles are currently enrolling:

ROP Roots, grades 6, Berkeley/Oakland (Thurs)

ROP Fruits, grade 7, Berkeley/Oakland (Weds)

ROP Seeds, grade 8, Berkeley/Oakland (Weds)

ROP Fruits, grade 7, Peninsula (Mon)

In response to COVID-19, all fall circles will have a maximum ratio of 6 participants with one auntie. We will no longer have shared meals or snacks. While all programs take place outdoors, participants and staff will comply with updated CDC recommendations for health and safety. (Read our complete COVID-19 Health and Safety Plan.) Each program will have 2 extra sessions scheduled in both fall and spring semesters, as some cancellations will likely be necessary due to rain, wildfire smoke, COVID-19, or other unforeseen circumstances. If it becomes unsafe to meet outdoors, programming will move temporarily online and Aunties will provide meaningful and connective content through Zoom.
