Our Herbal Medicine Day Camp is aimed at youth ages 7-11 and/or entering grades 1-6. In 2022, this camp will run in Canticle Farm, Oakland. Over the course of this week, we will cover plant botany and identification, practice meditation and nature journaling, and create several herbal medicine projects such as sprays, salves, lip balms, and lotion. We will dive into the basics of plant medicines, while exploring outside in local parks and gardens.
Herbal Medicine Camp Sessions
Our Wildflower Day Camps are perfect for kiddos ages 7-11 and/or entering grades 1-6. The Wildflowers Day Camp will run in Joaquin Miller Park, Oakland. Participants will make herbal medicines, track animals, make nature-based crafts, and learn beginning wilderness skills. Woven into each day are stories and songs about personal and group care, earth-care, connection, and play. This camp is also a great way for students to get a taste of what Gaia Passages does in our afterschool programs. Any student who loves the outdoors and wants to learn crafts and some basic earth skills will enjoy this camp.
Wildflower Day Camp Sessions
This summer, we will have 14 students in each session of camp with 2 guides. Each guide will lead a 7 student pod for special activities, lessons, and stations. We hope to be able to have the whole group play games and do some activities together, but will be dependent upon the health and safety measures needed. We will have a pre-zoom call with all participants and caregivers prior to the camp where we will have a chance to discuss the precautionary measures to keep all participants and staff safe during camp. For now, please read our Covid-19 health and safety info.
